Predators Hit the Burbs in First Teaser for Shane Black’s ‘The Predator’

Shane Black’s Predator reboot gets its first teaser trailer, giving us a look at what type of carnage to expect as the Predators hit suburban America.

When young Rory McKenna (Jacob Tremblay) accidentally summons an alien spacecraft carrying the devastating Predator species, a group of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher will band together to stop the humanity-ending threat.

Black appears to be taking the film in a somewhat different direction by setting the fight for survival in the suburbs.

The teaser trailer indicates that the Predators have evolved, and are likely more dangerous than ever.

We don’t see too much else plot-wise, but get plenty of glimpses of the violence and action we can expect, of which there appears to be plenty.

The vicious Predator creature made its debut back in 1987, in the Arnold Schwarzenegger action-hit film Predator, in which Black had a small role.

Since then, Predator has appeared in a sequel, poorly received reboot in 2010, and several crossover films with Aliens.

Just like Predator is extremely difficult to kill, so is this franchise it seems.

Filmmakers have struggled to match the original film’s cheesy excellence since 87, though having Shane Black at the helm and this impressive cast on board should instil some hope for fans of the franchise.

The film stars Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Yvonne Strahovski, and Jake Busey.

It hits cinemas on 13 September 2018 in Australia.

Check out the first teaser trailer below, as well as the trailer for the original Predator film for a nostalgia hit.
