‘It Comes at Night’ – Trailer for New Joel Edgerton Horror Film

it comes at night

It feels like it’s been ages since there’s been a new horror film to get excited about, however it appears now is the time, with It Comes at Night.

The first teaser trailer is creepy-as-anything and deliberately vague, using spooky visuals, timing and audio cues to build up the sense of dread – it’s an excellent teaser trailer.

The film’s synopsis reads:

Secure within a desolate home as an unnatural threat terrorizes the world, a man has established a tenuous domestic order with his wife and son, but this will soon be put to test when a desperate young family arrives seeking refuge.

Based on that and the tone set in the trailer, we can safely expect a film of slow-burning, psychological terror – the best kind for a good horror film.

Australia’s own Joel Edgerton stars in the film, giving even more reason to be excited about it, and he’s joined by Riley Keough and Christopher Abbott.

The film is directed by Trey Edward Shults, whose only other directing credit comes from the film Krisha (2015), which received some acclaim on the indie-film circuit.

It Comes at Night is being distributed by A24 films, who have had a very successful run of releasing high-quality films in the last few years, with some standouts including Moonlight (2016), American Honey (2016), Green Room (2015) and The Witch (2015).

The film releases on 25 August 2017 in the USA, however no word as yet on a local release date.
