Screen Junkies have just released their latest Honest Trailers video, focusing on this year’s Oscars and the Best Picture nominations.
This video pokes fun at the 9 Best Picture contenders for the upcoming Academy Awards, giving us a raw explanation of each film in hilarious fashion.
The team behind the video simply try to point out the real truths surrounding each film’s story and reason for nomination, and which ones are likely to succeed, and which will fail.
The 9 films up for nomination for the event’s biggest prize include Arrival, Fences, Hacksaw Ridge, Hell or High Water, Hidden Figures, La La Land, Manchester by the Sea and Moonlight (click links for our reviews).
I’ve seen most of those but not all unfortunately, however from what the latest buzz is, it seems like La La Land is set to make a clean sweep at the awards, with Moonlight and Manchester by the Sea as the next big contenders.
I would love to see Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge get some recognition, though it seems unlikely when you consider the films it’s up against.
The Oscars ceremony takes place on 26 February 2017 in the USA, so it won’t be long now to find out which film takes top honours.
