New Marvel Shows Announcement on Disney Plus Sees New Videos Drop

new marvel shows

There are several new Marvel shows coming to Disney+ and we’ve just received a better look at some of them, much to our delight.

Disney recently held its Investor Day event and with it came a slew of new announcements for its original streaming service programming.

There are countless new properties coming across the Star Wars, Pixar, Disney live-action, and of course, Marvel brands, all of which sound great and should give fans plenty to look forward to over the next few years.

Disney released some videos for its new Marvel shows, featuring the first look at the upcoming Loki TV series as well as the intriguing What If? animated series.

We were also treated to new trailers for Wandavision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, all of which you can see below.

Furthermore, Marvel continued to excite fans with the announcement that Jon Watts, the director of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019) will be directing the upcoming Fantastic 4 film, which will be the first superhero IP to enter the MCU from Fox since Disney’s acquisition of it.

You can read a thorough report on everything Disney announced at its Investor Day here, and in the meantime, check out the awesome new trailers for Disney’s upcoming Marvel shows below.

Loki

The MCU’s most popular villain, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) gets his own self-titled TV show which follows Loki’s travels after (or perhaps, during) the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Loki escapes from the clutches of the good guys and finds himself the captive of a mysterious organization known as the TVA, or Time Variance Authority, whose role it is to monitor the various timelines and events of the multiverse.

Not much else is revealed, except we get to see Loki in various mischievous situations, and a special appearance from Owen Wilson, who seems to have a significant role in the series.

Expect Loki to hit Disney+ in May 2021.

Marvel’s What If?

Marvel’s new What If? animated series is based on a comic line that asks the question, ‘what if things didn’t turn out the way they did?’, and offers an alternate reality of events that have taken place in the MCU so far.

In the new trailer, we can see there’s a British, female version of Captain America, which appears to be Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), and we’re given a brief introduction to the character of The Watcher (Jeffrey Wright), a celestial being who has an eye on all the happenings in the MCU.

Alongside those details, we see plenty of other popular characters and lots of action.

Expect to see Marvel’s What If? at some point in 2021.

WandaVision

Marvel released the second trailer for Wandavision at the Disney Investor Day event, and it features even more odd occurrences in the lives of Vision (Paul Bettany) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), who are now stuck in some sort of nightmarish TV show and are not sure how they got there, or how to get out.

Wandavision features one of the more interesting premises of the upcoming slate of new marvel shows and one whose plot has been tightly kept under wraps.

We won’t have to wait long to find out what happens though, as it releases exclusively on Disney+ on 15 January 2021.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Two more MCU fan-favorites, Falcon (Anthony Mackie), and Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) have gotten their own show in the upcoming The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

This one looks like it sticks to the style and tone of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), a film that played more like an international spy thriller film than a typical comic book movie.

Mackie and Stan appear to have excellent chemistry and the series looks action-packed-to-the-max, and it begins streaming on 19 March 2021.

What do you think of the new Marvel shows coming to Disney+?
