Rising Stars Take the Spotlight in Upcoming Horror Film – ‘Marrowbone’

rising stars 2018

In what is shaping up to be a good year in horror, comes another promising trailer in the form of Marrowbone, featuring a stellar cast of young, rising stars.

Substituting gore for the less-is-more approach, Marrowbone sees four siblings who have kept their mother’s death a secret in order to stay together, suddenly plagued by a malevolent force within the mansion they live in.

It’s good to see that Marrowbone’s trailer gives away very little, and only gives the audience a brief, but tantalising look at what they are in for.

This worked just as well in the recently released trailer for the Toni Colette film Hereditary (2018), which also looks very promising.

The cast for Marrowbone is led by some interesting and familiar faces including Charlie Heaton (Jonathon Byers in Stranger Things) and the up-and-coming Anya Taylor-Joy, who is on the fast track to become this generation’s screen queen, starring in the likes of The Witch (2015), Split (2017) and the upcoming X-Men spinoff, The New Mutants (2018).

The film is directed by Sergio G. Sánchez, who makes his directorial debut after previously having written the screenplays for 2012’s The Impossible and 2007’s The Orphanage.

Marrowbone looks rich with gothic atmosphere and suspense, so it will be one to watch out for when it’s released on 13 April 2018 in the US.
