The director of Bone Tomahawk (2015) and Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017) is back with the latest addition to his violent crime-film trilogy, Dragged Across Concrete.
*Trilogy, only in an unofficial sense, that is.
The film follows two corrupt police officers (Vaughn and Gibson) as they tread down a path of dirty deeds to make some extra money after being suspended from the force.
The trailer for Dragged Across Concrete doesn’t give too much away, but we get a small feel for the characters and the tone the film is going for.
Much like director S. Craig Zahler’s first two films, we can expect a slow-paced, grounded and humorous vibe that builds up to a confronting climax.
It’s almost better not seeing too much of the film in the trailer as it could ruin any surprises Zahler has in store for viewers (Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99 had a few).
Vince Vaughn headlined Cell Block 99 and returns here for the director alongside Mel Gibson, the two of which appear to make an excellent leading pair.
Jennifer Carpenter is also back in the cast list after appearing in 99, and the supporting cast consists of Michael Jai White, Tory Kittles, Don Johnson and Udo Kier.
Expect to see Dragged Across Concrete release across different dates worldwide later in the year.
