Opening Scene of ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Arrives Online – Watch it Here

wonder woman 2 opening scene

The opening scene for Wonder Woman 1984 has officially dropped online ahead of its release and focuses on a young Diana Prince.

Warner Brothers have released the opening scene for the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 and it takes audiences back to Wonder Woman’s birthplace of Themyscira, and sees a young Diana Prince (Lilly Aspell) attempt to partake in a battle of skill and strength against her much more grown-up warrior compatriots.

The opening scene runs for just over three minutes and is set in a sports-arena that features an event where Themyscira’s top warriors showcase their abilities to a thunderous crowd and cuts soon after Diana joins the scene, but not after a quick few words between her and her mentor, Antiope (Robin Wright).

Director Patty Jenkins takes viewers right into the action in the film with a vibrant opening full of color, light, and adventure.

It’s been three years since Wonder Woman (2017) was released (but feels much longer considering the 2020 we’ve had) and is a welcome return to the world created by Jenkins and her team.

Wonder Woman 1984 is set in the 80s and sees Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) face a pair of new villains in Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) and Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal).

It also sees the return of her love interest, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), who seemingly perished in the first film, so it will be interesting to find out how he made it out alive in the end.

This highly anticipated sequel is due to arrive in cinemas on 25 December in the US (26 in AUS) and will also release simultaneously on HBO MAX in the states.
