‘A Cure for Wellness’ – Trailer for New Thriller Film

Check out the visually striking trailer for A Cure for Wellness, an upcoming psychological thriller film from Gore Verbinski, starring Dane DeHaan.

This will be Verbinski’s second attempt in the horror/thriller genre, with his previous effort being 2002’s The Ring.

I enjoyed The Ring, so it will be nice to see what Verbinski has come up with here, and is an especially nice difference to his last few films, such as The Lone Ranger, Rango and three Pirates of the Caribbean films.

The trailer doesn’t reveal too much about the film’s story, however we get an excellent look at the visual style, and it looks stunning.

There’s obviously an emphasis on dramatic imagery, and the style they’ve gone for certainly adds a disturbing element to the film.

The official synopsis for the film is as follows:

An ambitious young executive is sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from an idyllic but mysterious “wellness center” at a remote location in the Swiss Alps. He soon suspects that the spa’s miraculous treatments are not what they seem. When he begins to unravel its terrifying secrets, his sanity is tested, as he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests here longing for the cure. From Gore Verbinski, the visionary director of THE RING, comes the new psychological thriller, A CURE FOR WELLNESS.

A Cure for Wellness is due out on 17 February 2017 in the USA and stars Dane DeHaan, Mia Goth and Jason Isaacs.
