Along with being the first person to walk on the Moon, astronaut Neil Armstrong was a naval aviator, university professor and loving family man.

The new documentary, Armstrong, is set to shed more light on the famous astronaut’s life and how he dealt with the fame of being one of the most recognised people in the world.

The film is a comprehensive look at Armstrong’s incredible life and includes exclusive interviews with family members and never seen before home movies.

Along with his mission to the Moon, the film covers the near-death experiences astronaut Neil Armstrong faced as a fighter pilot in Korea, his involvement in the Gemini 8 and Apollo 11 missions, and how his life changed after being the first man on the Moon.

Adding a touch of Hollywood to the doco is Harrison Ford, who narrates Armstrong’s own words throughout the film.

David Fairhead, who also directed space doco Mission Control: The Unsung Heroes Of Apollo (2017) and Spitfire (2018) is behind the camera, while The Last Man On The Moon (2014) producers Gareth Dodds and Keith Haviland are also involved.

Armstrong’s sons, Rick and Mark, have also been consulted about the film.

The two feature heavily and discuss what their father was really like before and after the Moon landings in this much-anticipated documentary.

Armstrong will be in cinemas from 12 July 2019.
