Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams play aspiring Icelandic musicians in the new comedy film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.
Ferrell and McAdams play Lars and Sigrit, a ditzy musical couple who manage to earn a spot to represent their country on the biggest musical stage there is – the Eurovision Song Contest.
Criticized by their family and friends, Lars and Sigrit will aim to prove they have what it takes to be the best.
The film comes to us from director David Dobkin, who directed the popular Will Ferrell movie Wedding Crashers (2005).
Audiences can expect similar humor in this one, if not a bit more ludicrous.
Ferrell and McAdams play over-the-top characters that fit perfectly into the mold of over-the-top performers that can be found in the actual Eurovision Song Contest.
The film looks like should deliver a few laughs, though the trailer doesn’t do it any favors, coming in at over three minutes in length.
The jokes featured in the trailer mostly miss the mark, but we can see there is potential there, and can only hope the best parts have been saved for the final product.
Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga hits Netflix on 26 June 2020.
