Sideshow Collectibles have announced their life-size ‘The Child’ aka Baby Yoda toy from the popular Disney+ TV series, The Mandalorian.

The Star Wars universe-set series became an instant success for Disney when it debuted on its streaming platform in late 2019, with its success significantly due to the inclusion of the super-cute ‘Baby Yoda’ character, simply known as ‘The Child’ in the show.

Baby Yoda was a huge hit with Star Wars fans, keeping them tuning in week after week and spawning countless memes to keep fans entertained while waiting for each new episode to drop.

The show follows the journey of the titular character; a bounty hunter tasked with protecting The Child from a variety of unsavoury characters, all who seem to have a sinister interest in obtaining The Child for themselves.

The show can be categorised as a space-western and features Pedro Pascal in the lead role alongside Carl Weathers and Gina Carano in supporting roles.

It was only a matter of time before Sideshow Collectibles, the modern-day premier toy-making company got their hands on The Mandalorian IP to create a super-realistic, life-size Baby Yoda toy.

As you can see in the video below, the detail on the The Child toy is extraordinary, and will certainly be a must-buy for collectors of Star Wars memorabilia.

The collectible is currently available for pre-order on the Sideshow Collectible website and is due to ship between August and November 2020.

And for those that have yet to see The Mandalorian, sign up to Disney+ here to check it out, you won’t be disappointed!
