Ryan Gosling plays the first man on the moon Neil Armstrong in Oscar-winning director Damien Chazelle’s biopic, First Man.
First Man recounts the life of American astronaut Neil Armstrong and the events leading up to the 1969 moon landing.
The whole world knows how that story ends, however, few know the dramas of the events that lead up to the Apollo 11 mission that Armstrong headed.
La La Land (2016) and Whiplash (2014) director Damien Chazelle has set out to fill us in on these events, with his film adapted from the book ‘First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong’ by James R. Hansen.
We’ve seen a couple of trailers for this film already, the first focusing on the film’s tension, the second focusing more on its plot.
This third trailer sees a combination of both, highlighting the dangers involved in preparing for the mission, as well as the effects it has on Armstrong’s personal life.
All of the actors appear to be in top form for this one and it should be a frontrunner come awards season.
The film recently premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where it received positive critical appraise.
Jason Clarke, Claire Foy, Kyle Chandler, Corey Stoll, Ciarán Hinds, Christopher Abbott, Patrick Fugit and Lukas Haas co-star.
First Man releases on 11 October 2018, check out the new trailer below.
