The suspenseful new trailer for David Gordon Green’s upcoming Halloween reboot has dropped, and it looks to deliver the goods.
Serial murderer Mike Myers is back, out to wreak havoc on Halloween night where it all began four decades ago.
Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), who narrowly escaped Myers’ original killing spree will face off with him again in what could be the last time.
The film’s latest trailer opens with a suspenseful kill featuring the iconic horror villain, in what looks like a throwback to 70’s-style horror filmmaking.
It then moves on to highlight the film’s plot, with plenty of violent imagery, ready to potentially scar a whole new generation of filmgoers.
The new film looks promising, considering its last Rob Zombie-led reboot and its sequel didn’t fare so well.
If the film can keep the audience on the edge of their seat through slow-burn tension, and rely less on jump-scares, then horror fans should be in for a treat.
Jamie Lee Curtis reprises the role that kicked off her career some forty years ago, with Judy Greer co-starring as her daughter Karen, who appears to be under the threat of Myers in the new film as well.
Halloween is David Gordon Green’s first foray into horror, after having directed a diverse range of drama and comedy over the years, including the likes of Stronger (2017), Joe (2013), Your Highness (2011), and Pineapple Express (2008).
The film hits cinemas on 26 October 2018.
