Some cool new character posters dropped today for the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, bringing with them the retro vibe this film is going for.
The new posters bring more splashes of colour to the film’s marketing campaign, with each of the film’s principal characters featured in a popping burst of colour.
The Thor films have used colour to a great extent, but it appears Ragnarok is attempting to use them even further with its retro, technicoloured palate.
They look fantastic, and with the film’s great cast and great director in Taika Waititi, Ragnarok looks like it could be a hit for Marvel this year.
We’ve seen a couple trailers for the film so far, and the visual aesthetic and humour seems to be on point from what’s been shown to date (see the latest trailer here!).
For anyone that isn’t familiar with Waititi’s work, the New Zealand director has been behind some outstanding films including What We Do in the Shadows (2014), and the recent Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016 – see my review here).
He’s been on a roll the last few years, so it will be interesting to see his take on Marvel’s popular character Thor.
The film hits cinemas on 26 October 2017.
What do you think of the posters and are you excited for this film?
