Thomas Jane stars in the movie adaptation of Stephen King’s short story 1922, due for release as a Netflix Original film in late October 2017.
1922 is an upcoming horror-thriller that follows a farmer (Jane) that conspires to kill his wife (Molly Parker) for financial gain, convincing his teenage son to participate.
It really doesn’t get much more sinister then that plot-wise, and we can see in the new trailer below, that this one looks really creepy, with a harrowing performance from Jane.
The novella was published as part of King’s short-story series Full Dark, No Stars in 2010, and joins a multitude of other King adaptations released this year.
Stephen King has ruled 2017, with feature films of his works The Dark Tower (review) and IT (review) already having been released, along with the upcoming Gerald’s Game and now this, not to mention the 2017 TV series adaptations of his works The Mist and Mr. Mercedes.
These new titles add to a growing collection of movies released (based on his stories) over the last few decades, making King the premier book-to-movie guy in Hollywood.
And while not all of the movies hit the mark, it’s still a great bonus for horror fans.
1922 is directed by Zak Hilditch and releases exclusively on Netflix on 20 October 2017, while Gerald’s Game releases on 29 September.
