Rami Malek Brings Freddie Mercury to Life in New ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Trailer

bohemian rhapsody movie trailer

Bohemian Rhapsody tells the story of one of the music world’s most enigmatic frontmen, Freddie Mercury of the band Queen.

The film chronicles the life of the boisterous frontman as he and the band Queen rise to the top of the musical landscape.

Queen took the world by storm over the two decades they were active since their formation in 1973, having sold anywhere between 150 million to 300 million records, making them one of the world’s best-selling artists.

Their work transcended the music industry to infiltrate mainstream pop-culture, which can still be felt to this day, 45 years later.

Mercury’s part in the band’s success was undeniable, with his vocal talents now legendary.

The new trailer for Bohemian Rhapsody, named after one of the band’s most iconic songs, gives us a glimpse at what to expect from the upcoming biopic.

The film appears to cover nearly every aspect of the late singer’s life, which is fairly typical of most music-related biography films.

The film is directed by Bryan Singer, who’s directed an entertaining film or two in the past.

We can only hope, however, that he’s found a way to separate Bohemian Rhapsody from the rest of the pack of films in this sub-genre.

Rami Malek of TV’s Mr. Robot fame plays the lead role and seems to be a good fit, at least in terms of resemblance.

Playing Mercury is a bit of a stretch from his role in Mr. Robot, but the actor is talented enough that he should be able to pull it off.

The film comes out on 1 November 2018.
