‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ – Teaser Trailer

Check out the first teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, in what is the next instalment of this never-ending franchise.

The teaser gives us a brief look at the visual style of the film as well as a couple of its characters, and it’s safe to say the filmmakers have brought the ‘Pirates’ world back without much change from previous films.

Whilst the films seem to have gotten progressively worse since the first one, you still have to respect the filmmakers for sticking with the same aesthetic style of the film, which works well for the stories they tell, as well as the money-making formula, as tired as it may be.

By now we know for certain that the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is still around solely for monetary purposes, which is fine – these films put bums in seats and make a tonne of money for Disney.

Critically speaking, the film series is average at best, but you don’t go to a Pirates movie looking for a deeper experience, as these films are pure, popcorn films.

This new teaser gives us a look at the film’s villain Captain Salazar, played by the talented Javier Bardem, as well as one of the film’s protagonists in Henry, played by Brenton Thwaites.

Johnny Depp of course returns in the lead role as Captain Jack Sparrow and Orlando Bloom also returns as Will Turner.

One of the most promising things about this film is that it’s directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, the Scandinavian directing duo behind 2012’s Kon-Tiki, which was an outstanding film.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales hits cinemas around the world on 26 May 2017.

IMDB Synopsis:

Captain Jack Sparrow searches for the trident of Poseidon.
