Let’s just hope that this new trailer for Paul Feig’s A Simple Favour starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively doesn’t give away too many twists.
Stephanie (Kendrick) befriends the mysterious Emily (Lively) and soon after is thrust into a world of betrayal, love, loyalty, murder and revenge when Emily goes missing from their small town.
This upcoming thriller is somewhat uncharacteristic of director Paul Feig, whose past work includes Bridesmaids (2011), The Heat (2013) and Ghostbusters (2016).
The comedy director explores his darker side in A Simple Favour, though there does appear to be a black-comedy aspect to the film.
The film looks intriguing based on this new trailer, however, it reveals a few plot twists already!
One can only assume that there’s plenty more in the full film, though it is somewhat concerning revealing so much in the trailer.
In any case, Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively make a good match as the film’s leads, and Linda Cardellini is always a welcome inclusion to any casting lineup.
Small-town thrillers always have a special kind of quirky charm about them, and it looks like A Simple Favour falls in line with that quite well.
The film is due for release on 20 September 2018, check out the new trailer below.
