Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) 2016

The Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) kicks off on the 28th of July and runs until 14th of August 2016.

The festival will screen over 70 films during the period, including 30 films that screened at Cannes in 2016.

Some of the Cannes highlights that are screening at MIFF include the hotly anticipated The Neon Demon, from Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn as well as The Handmaiden, from the brilliant Korean director Park Chan-wook.

Also screening are Cannes award-winning films including Graduation by director Cristian Mungiu, Personal Shopper by director Olivier Assayas and The Salesman by director Asghar Farhadi.

The opening night gala event will feature the world premiere of the Australian film The Death and Life of Otto Bloom followed by an official afterparty at The Arts Centre in Melbourne.

The Australian film Down Under will also screen at MIFF’s Centrepiece Gala event at the Comedy Theatre.
