Luc Besson’s ‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets’ – Final Trailer

From the acclaimed director Luc Besson comes a new entry into the sci-fi adventure genre of films – Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

In Valerian, the city of Alpha (a city of a thousand planets) is threatened by a powerful dark force.

The special operatives Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) set out to stop the dark force in its tracks and save Alpha, as well as the rest of the universe.

The first thing you’ll notice watching this final trailer (and any trailer before it) is just how gorgeous the film is.

The visual effects look second-to-none in this film, and even though they’re somewhat cartoonish, you must admire just how well thought-out the world the filmmakers have created appears to be.

The film’s title boasts of a city with a thousand planets and it looks like we’ll get to see a thousand different species as well, which sounds like it would have taken a massive effort to develop.

Visuals aside, we still don’t know too much about the specifics of the film’s plot, which is always a good thing, as going in with as little knowledge as possible will help with our pre-emptive opinions of the film.

Luc Besson has been making movies for a long time now and has already created a few cult classics, so I’m hoping Valerian can reach the same heights as some of his past work.

Check out the final trailer below before the film hits cinemas on 10 August 2017.
