Leonardo DiCaprio has been confirmed to star in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film, which is set against the backdrop of the Manson Family Murders.
DiCaprio “will play an aging, out-of-work actor in the film”.
This will be DiCaprio’s first role since his long awaited Oscar win in 2016 for The Revenant.
In addition to DiCaprio, rumour has it that Margot Robbie will also been joining the cast; Tarantino apparently wants her to play Sharon Tate.
As if the Wolf of Wall Street (2013) reunion of Robbie and DiCaprio isn’t enough, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are also apparently in talks for major roles.
Unlike previous Tarantino films, The Weinstein Company will not be involved in the release of his newest film.
The director cut ties with the company after Harvey Weinstein’s long history of sexual assault came to light last year.
Sony has secured the worldwide distribution rights and the still untitled 9th Tarantino film is slated for release in August 2019.
