‘Halloween Kills’ Sees the Return of Unkillable Killer Michael Myers

unkillable horror movie villains

The unstoppable, unkillable, immovable force that is horror icon Michael Myers is back for the latest entry in the Halloween saga, Halloween Kills.

Like in all of the films that have preceded it, Halloween Kills sees the unkillable horror movie legend terrorize Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her family while murdering plenty of townsfolk along the way.

In this latest entry into the long-running franchise, it seems as though Strode and the townspeople will fight back to end Myers once and for all.

The original Halloween (1978) from legendary director John Carpenter broke new ground for horror, introducing audiences to the slasher sub-genre.

Like the film’s antagonist, the franchise has refused to die, spawning multiple sequels, remakes and reboots.

Director David Gordon Green’s most recent attempt at a reboot began in 2018 with the apt-titled Halloween, which was met with high praise after the director honoured the tone and style of Carpenter’s original.

Green’s style seemed to click with fans and critics even though the reboot felt pretty rudimentary, and a sequel was green-lit not long after.

Halloween Kills picks up directly after the events of the 2018 film and features plenty of death and violence, which will undoubtedly make fans of the series happy.

Here’s hoping the director has found a way to elevate this latest entry above the rest.

The film stars the original scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis and Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Thomas Mann, and Anthony Michael Hall.

See it in cinemas from 14 October 2021.
