The teaser trailer for the new Pixar animation Coco, from the director of Toy Story 3 (2010), featuring the voices of Benjamin Bratt and Gael García Bernal.
This music-based story sees the film’s protagonist Miguel (Anthony Gonzalez) dream of becoming a musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz (Benjamin Bratt).
A bit of magic later and Miguel finds himself in the Land of the Dead, where the real adventure begins.
The teaser doesn’t give much away, but does take notice to the tone of the film and it falls in line with most other Pixar animated films, in that it will likely be a film for everyone with a somewhat emotional story.
The film is inspired by the Mexican holiday, the Day of the Dead, which would also make this Disney Pixar’s first South American-themed animated film.
Based on this new teaser, Coco looks like it will have a good blend of humour, heart, fun and some darker elements, which is very typical of a Pixar animation – and one that gets you every time.
Lee Unkrich, the director of 2010’s outstanding film Toy Story 3 co-directs with Adrian Molina and Benjamin Bratt and Gael García Bernal are joined by the voice acting talents of Renee Victor and Anthony Gonzalez.
The film comes out on 22 November 2017 in Australia.
