Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse is ready to leave its mark on audiences with production on the new Godzilla film beginning.
It seems like the next decade or so will be full of monsters on our screens.
From Universal’s newly announced Dark Universe featuring all the classic Universal Monsters, to the Monsterverse featuring Godzilla, King Kong and friends.
The next Godzilla film follows on from the 2014 reboot, but is also set in the same universe as 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, a film that I really enjoyed (see my review here).
Michael Dougherty, of Trick ‘r Treat (2007) and Krampus (2015) fame is set to direct, and the film will star Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Stranger Things standout Millie Bobby Brown, Ken Watanabe and Zhang Ziyi.
The upcoming film will see Godzilla face of against a range of god-sized monster enemies, that include the likes of Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis – the three-headed King Ghidorah.
All those monsters in the same film could make this the most epic action-blockbuster of all time!
The film will be titled Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and is due out for release on 22 March 2019.
Check out a cool photo of Godzilla fighting his nemesis in the 1964 Japanese film Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster.
