French Film Festival Returns to Australia in 2017

The Alliance Française French Film Festival hits Australian shores beginning on 7 March and running through to 23 April across all major cities.

The festival will feature 45 standout movies and documentaries from renowned directors such as Emmanuelle Bercot, Jean-Pierre & Luc Dardenne, Nicole Garcia, Benoît Jacquot and Mia Hansen-Løve, amongst others.

The films will feature some of France’s finest acting talents that include Daniel Auteuil, Nathalie Baye, Bérénice Béjo, Juliette Binoche, Vincent Cassel, Marion Cotillard, Catherine Deneuve, Gérard Depardieu, Mélanie Laurent, Léa Seydoux, Emmanuelle Seigner, Omar Sy and Gaspard Ulliel.

The festiva’ls Artistic Director, Philippe Platel, has curated an outstanding lineup of films from genres spanning romance, adventure, comedy, historical tales, thrillers and dramas.

Some of the films to keep an eye out on include the 2016 Cannes standout It’s Only the End of the World (Juste la fin du monde); the award-winning Things to Come (L’avenir) starring Isabelle Huppert; Planetarium, from writer/director Rebecca Zlotowski which stars Natalie Portman and Lily-Rose Depp as sisters surviving as mediums in 1930’s Paris, and The Odyssey (L’Odyssée), starring Lambert Wilson and Audrey Tautou as the famous adventurers Jacques-Yves and Simone Cousteau.
