‘Lion’ – Trailer for New Dev Patel/Rooney Mara Film

Dev Patel

Check out the trailer for the new drama film Lion, the upcoming tearjerker starring Dev Patel and Rooney Mara, directed by Garth Davis.

A young indian boy gets separated from his brother at a train station in Calcutta and ends up in Australia where he’s adopted by an Australian family.

Twenty-five years later he sets out to find his long lost family.

The touching film is based on a true story and stars Dev Patel (of Slumdog Millionaire fame), Rooney Mara, David Wenham and Nicole Kidman.

The excellent trailer pulls at the heartstrings of viewers with its story and features Patel sporting a near-perfect Australian accent.

It’s an outstanding, powerhouse cast all-round and is director Garth Davis’ first feature film, after recently directing four episodes of the fantastic TV mini-series Top of the Lake.

The film is due out 25 November 2016 in the USA and 19 January in Australia.

Judging by the trailer, this film looks like typical Oscar-bait, and it looks like it might have the goods to make an impact at the awards show.

IMDB Synopsis:

A five-year-old Indian boy gets lost on the streets of Calcutta, thousands of kilometers from home. He survives many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia; 25 years later, he sets out to find his lost family.
