Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow heads home to Russia where some action-packed spy hijinx ensues in the popular Marvel character’s new solo film.
Romanoff reunites with her family and soon discovers that there is a new villain in town by the name of Taskmaster, who has taken control of a team of Black Widows to do his evil bidding.
This super-hero family bands together to stop Taskmaster while uncovering some secrets along the way.
Black Widow sees Scarlett Johansson reprise her role in a film that looks more like a spy/espionage action-thriller as opposed to a typical Marvel film.
Of course, the epic action set-pieces and colorful characters are all Marvel all the way, but the film does have a unique feel to it.
It’s the first entry in Marvel’s Phase Four series of films that is set to be followed up by Eternals on 6 November 2020.
Johansson is joined by rising star Florence Pugh, David Harbour, and Rachel Weisz and the film is directed by Australian Cate Shortland, whose past credits include Berlin Syndrome (2017), Lore (2012), and Somersault (2004).
Check out the final trailer for Marvel’s new solo film below before the film hits cinemas on 1 May 2020.
