The Doll that Haunted Your Dreams is Back in ‘Child’s Play’ Reboot Teaser

The evil doll Chucky (or is it Buddi?) is back, with a twist, in this upcoming reboot of the popular horror film series, Child’s Play.

Child’s Play tells the story of a mother (Aubrey Plaza) who gives her son (Gabriel Bateman) an evil, murderous toy doll for his birthday.

The doll in question, as any horror fan would know, is the famous Chucky – the movie monster popularised in the original 1988 Child’s Play film.

Chucky’s back in 2019 under the moniker of ‘Buddi’, and he’s more of a high-tech, web-connected version compared to the one we were introduced to in 88′ (and its subsequent, forgettable sequels).

The first teaser trailer doesn’t give away much of the plot, but it does set the stage for a violent, murderous affair.

Being one of the more recognisable horror movie monsters (up there with the likes of Freddie, Jason and the rest), fans will be hoping that director Lars Klevberg does this series reboot justice.

Klevberg is relatively new on the scene, with only one other feature-length horror film to his name, Polaroid (also due in 2019).

We won’t know a lot more about the film until the full trailer is released, but for now, the teaser should be enough to keep horror fans in anticipation.

The film stars Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry and Gabriel Bateman.

Child’s Play releases in cinemas on 20 June 2019.
