Breakout young actor Jacob Tremblay stars alongside Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson in the moving film Wonder, based on the best-selling novel.
Tremblay plays a young boy with facial deformities entering the fifth grade for the first time, as his school, family, friends and the wider community’s compassion and values are tested.
Tremblay broke hearts with his performance in the 2015 drama Room, and it looks like he may even top that performance judging by the first trailer for Wonder.
The sensitive nature of the role will certainly test the young up-and-coming actor, as it surely isn’t an easy portrayal for a child actor.
He’s in supportive hands with screen veterans Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson at his side though, and the story looks like it will hold its own.
Its hard to watch a trailer for a film like this and find something to dislike, with my only concern being that the film might end up being too sappy.
The film is directed by Stephen Chbosky, who recently directed 2012’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower and is due out across Australian cinemas on 30 November 2017.
