Who doesn’t love a classic courtroom drama? 12 Angry Men this ain’t, but sign me up for this Keanu Reeves drama/thriller anyway.
The Whole Truth sees Reeves play a defence attorney out to defend a young client accused of murder.
As you’ll see in the trailer below, there’s a bit more to the story then that, however the film appears to have all the classic hallmarks of a thrilling courtroom drama film.
I just have a feeling the trailer gives away a bit too much, so here’s hoping the filmmakers have saved some big twists for the feature (which I’m sure they have).
It’s good to see Keanu Reeves leading this one, as the actor appears to be on a bit of a career resurgence as of late, though I would still like to see him land some bigger roles in the future.
He’s played a lawyer before in 1997’s The Devil’s Advocate, so he definitely has what it takes to portray that type of character, so it should just come down to the story and direction of the film to see if it ends up being any good.
The film is directed by Courtney Hunt, who also directed 2008’s crime-drama Frozen River, and co-stars Renee Zellweger and Jim Belushi.
The Whole Truth is out in American cinemas on 21 October 2016.
IMDB Synopsis:
