Zack Snyder’s Watchmen gets the Honest Trailers treatment, as they make fun of Snyder’s style and the film’s comparisons to his future work.
It was just a matter of time before this film got an Honest Trailer, especially considering Zack Snyder was the talk of the town for a period of time this year, after his film Batman v Superman was released to poor reception by fans and critics alike.
To me, Snyder has always been fifty-fifty with the quality of his films.
His first film Dawn of the Dead was great, but 300, Sucker Punch and Watchmen didn’t do a lot for me.
He then hit the mark with his first animated film Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole , as well as Man of Steel and the criminally underrated Batman v Superman.
Whether you like his work or not, you must give the director credit for sticking to his style and not being afraid to tackle the status quo in terms of what’s expected of a particular type of genre-film.
If he was, his three comic-book adaptations would have just looked like any other Marvel film – something I don’t want or need at this point.
Watchmen though, was a bit of a bore, but at least the style was cool and Jackie Earle Hayley absolutely nailed it as Rorschach.
