The second trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage features Woody Harrelson’s fan-favourite villain, Carnage, and plenty of action.
The sequel to Sony and Marvel’s breakout hit, Venom (2018), arrives in October and features one of Marvel Comics’ coolest-looking alien symbiote villains, Carnage.
The film follows the adventures of reporter Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and his relationship with his permanently bonded alien symbiote, Venom.
The pair can be seen bickering like the odd couple they are, making for lots of funny comic relief.
Brock meets the jailed serial killer Cletus Kasady (Harrelson) for a story when Kasady attacks Brock, tasting some of his blood and inheriting the symbiote for himself, too.
Kasady’s symbiote, Carnage, is red and a lot deadlier, ultimately resulting in an epic battle of good vs evil.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage features the same tone as 2018s first entry in that it doesn’t take itself seriously at all and aims high in the spectacle front.
We don’t get to see much else of the plot in this second trailer, other than introducing a better look at the villain, the film’s humour and the type of action we can expect.
The sequel looks to raise the stakes set in the first film and judging by this new trailer, it’s succeeded.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage hits cinemas in October 2021.
