Vanessa Kirby is set to join action superstars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in the upcoming Fast and Furious spinoff, Hobbs and Shaw.
Best known for her role as Princess Margaret on the Netflix series The Crown, Kirby is in final negotiations to play an MI-5 agent and the sister of Statham’s character, Deckard Shaw.
Johnson and Statham will headline the spinoff, reprising their Fast and Furious roles of special agent Luke Hobbs and criminal mastermind Deckard Shaw, respectively.
While plot details are being kept under wraps, the film is said to see the “often-at-odds duo” team up, reports Variety.
The two were last on screen together in the action-packed 8th instalment of the franchise, The Fate of the Furious (2017).
Kirby can also be seen in the upcoming Mission: Impossible – Fallout, playing a character known as White Widow.
Fast and Furious writer Chris Morgan returned to pen the script, with Deadpool 2 director David Leitch on board to direct.
Production kicks off later this year with the film slated for release on 26 July 2019.
