Thor’s Absence from ‘Civil War’ Explained

If you were wondering why Thor wasn’t in Captain America: Civil War, check out this hilarious parody video starring Chris Hemsworth.

The video features Hemsworth in character, talking about what he was up to while the Civil War storyline was unfolding in the MCU.

The video debuted at this year’s annual Comic-Con but was only just released to rest of the world.

The character of Thor in the MCU has always had that comedic element to him, especially after touching down on Earth, where the people and customs are completely different to the ones on his homeland, essentially making him like a fish out of water.

The sketch below plays on that same humour, as Thor hits Australia while the Civil War events are underway, gets a roommate and visits a group of school-kids.

There’s also a welcome cameo in it from another one of the Avengers that didn’t make the cut in the film.

Hemsworth will next be seen in Thor: Ragnarok, the third instalment of the character’s standalone films which is currently filming in Australia, and is directed by Taika Waititi, whose last film The Hunt for the Wilderpeople (review here) was fantastic.

It’s still ages away though, with a release scheduled for 3 November 2017 in the USA.
