The Miracle on the Hudson featurette for the Tom Hanks film Sully has been released, featuring details about the incredible true story behind the film.
The video below features the cast and crew of the film talking about the character of Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger and his heroic efforts after crash-landing a plane on New York’s Hudson river back in 2009, an event that made headlines around the world.
The film follows the little-known story of the aftermath of the event, when Sully goes under investigation by the authorities.
The film stars Tom Hanks, in what appears to a role that’s made for him and he’s being directed by Clint Eastwood, who is one of the best working directors today.
The official synopsis for Sully is as follows:
On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the “Miracle on the Hudson” when Captain “Sully” Sullenberger glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career.
