One of the world’s most renowned animation houses, Studio Ghibli, brings their entire collection of 22 films (and more) to Australian cinemas.

Since 1986, Studio Ghibli, along with their co-founder and long-time director Hayao Miyazaki, have been leading the way in the animated film circuit, producing critically acclaimed hit after hit.

Five of their films have been nominated for Academy Awards, with their 2001 classic Spirited Away going on to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film at the 2003 awards.

The Japanese animation studio is well known for creating gorgeous looking films with lots of heart, with narratives that stretch the imagination, featuring memorable characters that have crossed over into permanent pop-culture history.

Madman Entertainment is bringing the Ghibli films down to Australia and New Zealand for a month-long celebration, from 24 August to 20 September 2017.

For the first time ever, all 22 feature films will screen at cinemas across the above dates, including classics like My Neighbor Totoro (1988), Princess Mononoke (1997) and of course, Spirited Away.

Tickets are on sale now on the Celebrate Studio Ghibli homepage and you can check out the showcase trailer below.
