A Sombre Tone the Setting for First ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Trailer

sombre movies

Avengers: Endgame continues the Infinity War saga, setting a sombre tone in the first trailer for the upcoming sequel.

SPOILER ALERT for Avengers: Infinity War (2018) ahead.

Continuing on from the events of Infinity War, in which Marvel’s big-bad Thanos (Josh Brolin) wiped out 50% of the universe’s population, the first trailer for the sequel to that hit film sees the Avengers contemplating those tragic events, with a tease of an impending grand-scale battle to right the wrongs caused by Thanos.

It features Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) sending a message to Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) through his destroyed Iron Man helmet, while being stranded alone in space.

We also get to see some familiar faces including those of Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), all in a state of despair.

Absent from the gigantic cast of Infinity War, Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), also make an appearance, which was nice to see.

We don’t get much by way of the plot in this new trailer, but what is teased is that the Avengers team will have to fight to try and bring things back to normal, likely with some dire consequences.

The trailer also sets a heavy, sombre tone, which will likely resonate throughout the film.

We can expect a lot of the heroes and villains from the past Marvel films to make an appearance in Endgame, and the film releases on 26 April 2019.
