Gripping Trailer for New Serial Killer Crime Thriller ‘The Little Things’

best serial killer movies

Denzel Washington and Rami Malek are on the hunt for a serial killer (which may or may not be Jared Leto) in the new crime thriller, The Little Things.

Washington plays an old-timer county sheriff with a mysterious past who joins forces with a brash city detective (Malek) to track down and capture a serial killer.

Their main suspect (played by Jared Leto) seems to have all the right knowledge about the crimes they’re trying to solve, but can never be placed at the scene, causing a lot of frustration for the officers.

The Little Things trailer reminded me of David Fincher’s classic thriller film Se7en (1995), which is exciting for fans of the serial killer sub genre of cinema.

Writer and director John Lee Hancock, whose past credits include The Highwaymen (2019) and The Founder (2017), appears to have produced a film that could rival some of the best in the genre, one that includes a riveting story with complex characters.

It also helps that the film’s three leads are all Oscar winners; Washington winning one for Training Day (2001), Malek for Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), and Leto for Dallas Buyer’s Club (2013).

The three actors all look like they’re in top form here, and should this film perform well with the critics, may garner them some recognition on the awards circuit yet again.

The Little Things is due to release in American theatres on 29 January 2021, and will also stream simultaneously on HBO Max.
