The veteran actor Sam Neill confirms his involvement in the upcoming Marvel film Thor: Ragnarok, by Hunt for the Wilderpeople director, Taika Waititi.
Neill confirmed the news in a recent interview by saying:
“I’m not really allowed to say this and I can’t tell you what it is… I did a couple of days on Thor just before I came over here. If I say anything else, Marvel’s secret agents — and they are lethal — will come and get me and probably my children, as well.”
There’s no news as to who he’ll be playing in the film or if his role is significant, or more of a guest-appearance type role.
He reunites with his director in Hunt for the Wilderpeople which was excellent (my review here), so it’s nice to see Waititi got a role for the renowned actor in his latest film.
He’ll also star alongside his Jurassic Park co-star in Jeff Goldblum, who plays the character Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarok.
The first two Thor films were pretty average in my opinion, however the world the filmmakers created for those films were pretty cool and they did offer some entertainment value, so I’m looking forward to Ragnarok, especially with Waititi directing.
Thor: Ragnarok is due out in cinemas in November of 2017.
