The second full trailer for Rogue One has dropped today and it looks fantastic, further increasing anticipation for what will likely be 2016’s biggest film.
Wow, this looks like it’s shaping up to be the movie of the year.
The new trailer offers us some more details about the story of the film, which is set in the time period between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, with Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso sent on a mission by the Rebellion to find and bring back the secret plans to the Empire’s planet-killing machine, the Death Star.
Based on this trailer, it looks like there will be a family-element underpinning the story, with Jyn’s father Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) set to play a pivotal role in the film, as it appears he may be one of the lead developers of the weapon.
That’s a bit of a new plot point that hadn’t been released up until now, but the rest we already knew.
The new trailer also features more of a look at Darth Vader and Ben Mendelsohn’s Orson Krennic gets a line for the first time too.
The most impressive thing about this trailer though is the film’s beautiful cinematography.
The filmmakers have yet again created several stunning worlds that all fit perfectly in the Star Wars universe’s aesthetics.
The film looks gorgeous, has an amazing cast and what appears to be an intriguing story, so it surely is destined for success, both at the box office and in the hearts of fans.
Rogue One releases on 15 December 2016 in Australia and it couldn’t come sooner.
