The disturbing full-length trailer for Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects (2005) sequel, 3 From Hell has dropped and it’s everything you’d expect from a Zombie film.
The ‘3 from hell’ the title refers to are the three sadistic characters that featured in Zombie’s cult-hit The Devil’s Rejects; Baby Firefly (Sheri Moon Zombie), Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) and Otis Firefly (Bill Moseley).
The trailer reveals that the deadly trio have survived the near-fatal shootout they were involved in at the end of Rejects, and there’s a disturbing fan-campaign to ‘free the three’ from jail.
Presumably, the three make it out of jail and begin another rampage of murderous terror.
The film fits the classic Rob Zombie-style perfectly; it’s dark and disturbed and ultra-violent, featuring some of the most vile characters to ever grace the screen.
Zombie’s first two films, House of 1000 Corpses (2003) and The Devil’s Rejects went on to become cult classics.
Both highly stylized and ridiculously violent, they were adored by horror film fans.
The singer/director has been on a decline since then, so I’m hoping 3 From Hell will resemble that of his earlier, best work.
Fans of Zombie as well as fans of ultra-violent films should get a kick out of the trailer for this one, though I can’t imagine there’d be much more of a wider audience than that – probably just how the director wants it.
3 From Hell is due for release in September 2019.
