Rodriguez, the man responsible for the films Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn and Sin City is producing a new backwoods horror film titled Blood.
The synopsis of the film is as follows:
The story centers on a recently engaged woman who becomes determined to find her birth family before she marries. But when she meets her unusual kin in the deep woods of Florida, she begins reliving horrifying suppressed memories that lead her to believe her newfound relatives may be hiding some dark secrets.
It sounds like a compelling plot, one with psychological-horror elements, aka the best kind for a horror movie.
There’s no director attached to it as yet and there’s no word as to whether or not Rodriguez will be taking that duty, or just producing the film.
However the production company behind the film, Bold Films, has a list of very impressive development credits, which include Whiplash, Nightcrawler, Drive and The Neon Demon, so this will definitely be one to keep an eye on.
The director’s latest film, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For was a flop, however he’s already cemented his legacy in cult-film history the above-mentioned classics, as well as films like Spy Kids and Once Upon a Time in Mexico.
No release date has been set for this film and Rodriguez can next be seen directing Alita: Battle Angel, which is due for release in 2018 and written by James Cameron.
