The latest trailer for Marvel’s Black Panther film has dropped, giving us a look at the film’s colourful setting and epic action.
Chadwick Boseman reprises his role as T’Challa/Black Panther after debuting the character in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.
In Black Panther, T’Challa returns home to Wakanda to claim the kingdom left behind by his late father, however a new enemy has appeared to challenge him by way of Michael B. Jordan’s character Erik Killmonger.
That’s the bare bones plot for this film, however as you’ll see in the trailer, there is a lot more going on.
The biggest highlight in this trailer was the emphasis on the film’s visual aesthetic as well as some of the cool action we can expect.
Director Ryan Coogler and his team have developed what appears to be a deep, rich world the film is based in, with some outstanding set and costume designs, along with a focus on some cool technological advances to be featured in the film.
Sadly, the story doesn’t appear to bring anything new to the table, which has been one of the biggest problems with all of Marvel’s films of late, however I hope to be proven wrong.
Nevertheless, it’s still one I am keen to check out, because critical analysis aside, Marvel’s films all have one thing in common in that they’re all entertaining.
Bosewick is joined by a great supporting cast that includes Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.
Black Panther hits cinemas on 15 February 2018.
