Based on the 1934 best-selling novel by Agatha Christie, Murder on the Orient Express is a murder-mystery film directed by Kenneth Branagh, who also plays one of the lead roles as Detective Hercule Poirot.
The film takes place in December 1935, where the lavish European train, The Orient Express, is travelling to Istanbul from France.
Famous Belgian Detective Hercule Poirot is one of many passengers aboard this busy train, trying to make his way back home to London.
When a passenger is unexpectedly murdered on board, Poirot is called upon to use his detective skills to solve the murder.
Thirteen complete strangers suddenly become suspects in this thrilling, suspenseful murder-mystery that’s riddled with conflicting clues and all sorts of possible motives that’ll keep the audience guessing until the very end.
Branagh leads an all-star cast that includes Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley and Josh Gad.
With such a star-studded cast, I have no doubt this film will capture the essence of Christie’s famous novel, keeping viewers captivated while trying to solve the mystery themselves.
Take a shot at catching the culprit when Murder on the Orient Express hits cinemas on 9 November 2017.
