The first trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, A Quiet Place Part II has dropped and we can see that there are multiple threats in this monstrous, quiet world.
Following on from the events of 2018’s A Quiet Place, Evelyn Abbott (Emily Blunt) and her three young children (Noah Jupe, Millicent Simmonds, and baby) leave their house and the painful memories associated with it and hit the road.
While trying to remain silent and avoid the emergence of the monsters that come out and kill anyone that makes a sound, they meet a fellow survivor who joins their band and warns them of a real, human threat out there in the wider world.
The new team must now try and stay alive in silence, with threats coming from multiple sides.
It seems a natural progression for the film’s story to go down the path of including a human threat, considering the ravaged, murderous landscape they find themselves living in.
It’s essentially every man for themselves, and while we don’t see much of any new human villains in this first trailer, we do get a good feel of the film’s tone.
Much like 2018’s runaway-hit film, we can expect another tense journey to follow these characters on.
John Krasinski is back in the writer/director’s chair with the rest of the first film’s principal cast also returning.
We have new inclusions to the cast that include Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.
Considering how successful the first film was, we can be sure to expect another hit for Krasinski and Paramount Pictures.
A Quiet Place Part II hits cinemas on 19 March 2020.
