Margot Robbie and Saoirse Ronan play Queen Elizabeth I and Mary Stuart – two feuding queens in the upcoming historical drama, Mary Queen of Scots.
Mary Stuart (Ronan) returns to her homeland of Scotland to reclaim her rightful place on the throne, however, Scotland falls under the rule of her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I (Robbie).

The film is based on Australian author John Guy’s biography My Heart Is My Own: The Life of Mary Queen of Scots.
It will primarily focus on the two figureheads’ relationship and the struggle for power between them.
