Ryan Reynold’s posted the first look at Josh Brolin’s character Cable in the upcoming Deadpool (2016) sequel, and the filmmakers have nailed his look.

The photos come to us today from Ryan Reynold’s official Twitter account, and they show a close-up of Josh Brolin in character, as well as one of him in full gear as the time-travelling comic-book character Cable.

Cable has been a fan favourite character in the X-Men comics universe, first appearing in Uncanny X-Men #201 (Jan. 1986).

It has long been wondered when the character would make his film debut appearance, and it was only recently announced that it would be in the sequel to the 2016 smash hit, Deadpool (see my review here).

The news that Josh Brolin would be playing the character was welcomed by all fans, as he really is a great fit for the character looks-wise (as we can now see), but Brolin is also a remarkable actor.

For anyone that may have missed the other big casting news for Deadpool 2, check out the image below of relative newcomer Zazie Beetz in character as Domino.

Deadpool 2 is due out on 1 June 2018 and appears to be coming along nicely.

There was also a funny teaser video for the film released a few months ago, which you can check out here if you haven’t already.

The film is directed by David Leitch, who recently directed Charlize Theron in Atomic Blonde (see my review here), and one thing’s for sure, Leitch knows how to do action.

What do you think of Brolin in this role, let us know in the comments below.
