The hilarious Amy Poehler and funnyman Jason Mantzoukas star alongside Will Ferrell in this upcoming absurdist comedy film.
Ferrell and Poehler play husband and wife to a teenage daughter who has just been admitted into an expensive college.
When they realise they don’t have the money to pay for her tuition, they decide to open up an underground casino at their house to raise the funds.
It’s as ridiculous a plot as you can get, but one that’s perfect for a comedy film, especially with this particular talent on board.
The House comes to us from the mind of writer/director Andrew Jay Cohen, who makes his directorial debut here, however his past writing credits include Bad Neighbours (2014) and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (2016).
Anyone familiar with those two films will know exactly what to expect from the humour here, and it should make for some highly entertaining viewing going by this new trailer.
Will Ferrell had a quiet 2016 and Amy Poehler has also been relatively inactive since her hit show Parks and Recreation ended a few years ago.
These two comedic talents are some of the best in the business so it will be interesting to see how their on-screen chemistry plays out.
Add to that an outstanding supporting cast and The House should be a hit for everyone involved.
It releases on 30 June 2017 in the USA.
