The first trailer for Glass dropped at this year’s Comic-Con, introducing the film’s peculiar superhuman characters whilst combining the Unbreakable universe.
The film follows David Dunn (Bruce Willis, and the protagonist of Unbreakable) as he uses his superpowered abilities to track down Kevin Wendell Crumb (James McAvoy) – a dangerous man with 24 different personalities (and the antagonist of 2017’s Split).
Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson), otherwise known as Mr. Glass (the film’s namesake and principal character in Unbreakable), is in some way connected behind the scenes and holds secrets critical to both men.
The first trailer sees all three men in some type of mental institution, with Sarah Paulson’s character Dr. Ellie Staple trying to discover why it is that these men believe they have superpowers.
We’re not given much else plot-wise, however, there are plenty of quick snippets from the film to get fans of M. Night Shyamalan’s work excited.
His film Unbreakable went on to become somewhat of a cult classic following its release in 2000.
It took 17 years and a string of shockers for the director to get back on the map and in the good graces of his followers.
Shyamalan’s Split earned him unanimous praise, making his follow-up, Glass, inevitable.
The principal characters are all interesting and unique, and having Paulson join the cast is a great bonus.
Anya Taylor-Joy also returns, reprising her role from Split.

Glass releases on 18 January 2019.
