Everyone’s favourite movie star Dwayne Johnson took to Twitter today to post a first-look image of himself and his co-stars in the upcoming Jumanji remake.
The photo comes to us from the set of Jumanji, the remake of the classic 1995 family film starring the late Robin Williams that nobody asked for.
Not much is known about the plot for the film at this time, however it will likely follow a similar storyline to the original film, where a couple of kids unlock a magical board game, sending them on dangerous adventures.
However, IMDB lists the film as being a sequel to the original, so it may also be possible that the film will go in a slightly different direction, though we’ll just have to wait until more information is released to find out.
The original Jumanji won audiences over worldwide when it came out and became an instant classic, and one of Robin Williams’ most recognisable works.
As is the trend in the modern era, a remake/reboot/sequel was inevitable, as the studios go down the list of classics they can remake for a modern audience, which often turn out worse than the originals, much to the dismay of fans.
In any case, this film stars two of the biggest stars in Hollywood at the moment in Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, so their star-power should see a significant return at the box office.
Jumanji also stars Karen Gillan and Jack Black and is directed by Jake Kasdan.
The film is due out on 28 July 2017 in the USA.
